Export turnover hits over US$ 980 million in August
VGP – Overseas shipment of Ha Noi was estimated at US$ 982 million in August, representing a month-on-month surge of 3.1% and a year-on-year growth of 2%, the Ha Noi Statistics Office has reported.

Local exporters earned US$ 816 million in turnover, up 3.2% against the previous month and 3.2% against the same period last year.
Some exports saw high turnovers including agricultural products (up 24.8%); footwear and leather products (up 27.9%); furniture (up 30.5%); transport vehicles and spare parts (up 46.6%).
In the first eight months, export turnover was supposed at US$ 7.62 million, up 8.5% against the same period last year.
Turnover of local exporters valued US$ 6.32 million, up 10.8% against the same period last year. Overseas shipment of electronic products surged by 35.7%; petrol up 41.2%; machines and spare parts up 32.4%.
However, some groups experienced declining export turnovers including garments and textiles (down 2.3%); and glass (down 3.6%).
In August, import turnover hit US$ 2.65 million, up 5.8% against the previous month and 30.2% against the same period last year. Import of local companies was US$ 1.186 million, up 5.4% against July and 29.1% against the same period last year.
In the January-August period, import turnover valued US$ 19.263 million, up 21.8% against the same period last year. Import of domestic enterprises was US$ 8.55 million, up 21.7% against the same period last year. Almost all imports saw increasing turnovers especially petrol (up 45.8%); plastic products (up 22.2%); and chemicals (up 20.6%./.
