Export turnover exceeds US$ 1 billion in Oct
VGP – The Capital City of Ha Noi earned over US$ 1 billion of export turnover in October, representing a year-on-year growth of 1 7 % and a month-on-month increase of 1 .6 % , the Ha Noi Statistics Office reported.
In the tenth month, local enterprises shipped US$ 840 million of goods abroad, up 1.7% against last month and 14.5% against the same period last year.
In the January-October period, export turnover touched US$ 9.6 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.8%. Local enterprises exported US$ 7.9 billion of goods, up 11.4% against the same period last year.
Computer spare parts and peripheral devices was the biggest hard currency earner, up 15.6%. Overseas shipment of transport vehicles and spare parts grew 33.5%. Meanwhile, glass and glass products suffered a year-on-year drop of 1.1%.
On the other hand, import turnover was estimated at US$ 2.1 billion in October, up 5.4% against September and 4.7% against the same period last year. Local enterprises imported US$ 969 million of goods and raw materials, up 5% against the previous month and down 3.4% against the same period last year.
In the first ten months, import turnover valued US$ 23.4 billion, a year-on-year growth of 16.3%./.
