VGP – The "Going through the war" exhibition displaying 50 photos was held in Ha Noi on August 11th. The photos were taken by a group of students from Ha Noi-Amsterdam High School during their recent fact-finding trip to Quang Tri.

The exhibition is a message on peace and a dream of life without war and is to call for support for the victims.

The event shows not only the victims' losses, but also their strong will to overcome the consequences of post-war bombs and mines, as well as raise youth’s awareness of the war consequences.

The photos were taken by a group of 12th graders from the Ha Noi-Amsterdam Gifted High School during their trip to Quang Tri, which is the most affected by UXOs in Viet Nam.

They met with historical witnesses and war victims to interview, take photos, and present them gifts.

According to the National Steering Committee for Recovery over the Postwar Bomb and Landmine Impact, about 800,000 tonnes of UXOs, scattered across 6.6 million hectares or 20.12% of the country’s land, are putting people in danger every day.

The exhibition will run till August 17.
