Exhibition marks Ha Noi's liberation in 1954

VGP - The Ha N oi Department of Cul ture, Sports and Tourism and Ha N oi Museum have opened the exhibition themed “Ha Noi : Moments of October 1954” to mark the 6 4 th anniversar y of the Capital’s Liberation.

With nearly 60 selected documentary photos, the exhibition is expected to help people, especially young generations and visitors, learn more about the heroic tradition and spirit of the Vietnamese armed forces and people in national defence.

Its photos and stories tell visitors about the triumphant Vietnamese army arriving to take over the capital city from colonial French rulers; the flag salute ceremony at Cot Co stadium to celebrate Ha Noi’s victory on October 10, 1954; the withdrawal of the French troops from Ha Noi; the thousands of Hanoians that shared a cheerful moment over the victory; and memories of people on the historic day.

Those historic October days in 1954 have forever gone down into the national history as the inspiration for people of all walks of life in overcoming hardships and challenges to build the prosperous Capital of Ha Noi.

 

The event runs until October 31./.
