Enterprises shift business strategies in response to nCoV outbreak

VGP – A large number of local enterprises in Ha Noi has taken a series of measures to safeguard production and business and protect health of their employees in response to outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

A large number of enterprises proactively purchased medical equipment to prevent possible disease outbreak and strengthen preventive measures for laborers at working and household places. 

In addition, enterprises extremely attached importance to ensuring food hygiene.

General Director of the Viet Nam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) said that some contracts were affected due to temporary border gate closure. Hence, they decided to minimize losses by extending deadlines of goods delivery until border gates are re-opened. 

In addition, local enterprises pledged to support farmers to consume dragon fruits and watermelons at reasonable prices in an effort to mitigate farmers’ losses. 

Some FDI representatives said that they are considering market diversification plans; new suppliers instead of Chinese ones; and improvement of modals./.
