Dominican Republic wants to boost ties with Ha Noi

VGP - M ember of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party’s Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang o n December 3 in Ha Noi rece ived a high-level delegation of the Caribbean country's United Left Movement (MIU) Party led by its General Secretary and Cabinet Minister of the Dominican Republic Miguel Mejia.

At the reception, Miguel Mejia thanked the Ha Noi Party Committee for placing the statue of Professor Juan Bosch – a writer, a thinker and the leader of the national liberation movement in Latin America and the first president of the Dominican Republic at Hoa Binh (Peace) Park in Ha Noi.

Miguel Mejia also expressed the Dominican Republic’s honor to build a monument of late President Ho Chi Minh in the capital city of Santo Domingo.

On this occasion, Miguel Mejia expressed his wish to establish a twinning relationship between Ha Noi city and a city of the Dominican Republic, and invited Hang to visit Dominica next year.

In turn, Hang once again affirmed that Viet Nam wants the two parties to keep exchanging delegations, information,documents and cooperating closely at international and regional forums.

The cooperation will contribute to strengthening the ties between the two capital cities, the MIU and the Communist Party of Viet Nam as well as between Viet Nam and the Dominican Republic, Hang said, believing that the two parties have maintained a good relationship for a long time.

She emphasized that relations between the two countries continue to develop in all channels, fields and the two parties’ collaborative ties are increasingly enhanced.

The Communist Party of Viet Nam has always been consistent in constantly fostering friendship and solidarity with the MIU, as well as with the Dominican people, Hang stressed.

She said Ha Noi attaches importance to tapping into potential cooperation with localities of the Dominican Republic in the fields of economy, culture, society, tourism, and others.
