Directive on air protection issued
VGP – The Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee has issued Directive 19/CT-UBND on measures to reduce air pollution and improve Air Quality Index (AQI) in Ha Noi.
Under the Directive, the Chairman tasked the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to direct the Sub-Department of Environment Protection to operate the air quality monitoring station system; regularly announce air pollution data of the city, the French Embassy, the U.S. Embassy to Ha Noi Television and the Portal of the Department for local residents.

In case of ‘dangerous’ level at AQI >300, the Department is responsible for informing the Department of Education and Training to direct school time for kindergarten schools and primary schools; the Department of Health to take protective measures; and relevant departments and agencies to handle emissions.
The Department of Health bears the responsibility for guiding local residents to protect their health during “bad”, “extremely bad” and “dangerous” air quality days.
The Chairman also asked the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Culture and Sports, district and commune People’s Committees to encourage people to exempt from waste burning, honeycomb charcoal stoves; engage in tree planting program; use public transport vehicles; and reduce personal ones./.
