Craft Village Festival 2014 to be held

VGP – Ha Noi Craft Village Festival 2014 opened in Ha Noi on October 9 with Handicraft products of famous traditional craft villages.

The two-day event over 366 pavilions showcasing a wide range of products including ‘to he’ (toy figurine) from Xuan La village, Phu Xuyen district; embroidery pictures from Quat Dong village, Thuong Tien district; silk products from Van Phuc village, Ha Dong district; and pottery from Bat Trang village, Gia Lam district.

About 15 stalls feature food items from the Republic of Korea and tourist products from Malaysia, and ceramics, rattan, embroidery items, textiles and folk paintings from Viet Nam, according to the organising board.

A ceremony to honour outstanding craft villages is planned and artists and artisans will stage a series of entertaining art and martial art performances along with folk games for all to enjoy.

The festival is the second of its kind held by the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee and the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
