CPI increases slightly in August
VGP – The consumer price index (CPI) saw a month-on-month increase of 0.27% and a year-on-year growth of 3.28% in August, the Ha Noi Statistics Office (GSO) reported.

In the first eight months of 2019, CPI increased 3.92% against the average rate of the same period last year.
In August, ten out of 11 groups of commodities experienced month-on-month price hikes especially medicines and healthcare services (up 2.62%) and education (up 0.99%).
On the other hand, transport saw a month-on-month decline of 0.41% due to petrol price adjustments.
The Ha Noi Statistics Office reported that gold price experienced a month-on-month increase of 15.6% and grew 15.6% against last December. Meanwhile, USD price suffered from a month-on-month drop of 0.15% and decreased 0.37% against last December./.
