CPI drops 0.89% in March

VGP – The consumer price index (CPI) witnessed a month-on-month decline of 0.89% in March and a year-on-year growth of 4.36%, the Ha Noi Statistics Office reported.

In Q1, CPI picked up 5.23% against the same period last year. 

In March, seven out of 11 groups of commodities experienced month-on-month price decreases especially transport (down 4.19%); culture, entertainment, and tourism (down 2.97%); food and food services (down 0.77%).

In March and the first three months, USD and gold prices increased in comparison with the same period last year. 

God prices picked up 3.49% against the previous month, increased by 10.36% against last December and 24.45% against the same period last year. 

In March, USD price grew 0.05% against the previous month; 0.29% against last December; and 0.24% against the same period last year./.
