VGP – COVID-19 patients who deliberately avoid complying with medical declaration regulations, thus sparking community infections, must be strictly punished, even with criminal charges, said Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue.

Secretary Hue stressed that the city will strictly handle those making dishonest medical declarations at a meeting on February 8.

He said that new variants of coronavirus spread quickly, while some COVID-19 patients have made dishonest health declarations and have not cooperated fully with the local authorities, making it difficult for detecting those exposed to the virus.

Mr. Hue requested all levels, sectors, and local people to seriously comply with directives and instructions of the Government, the PM, the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control, and local directions.

Earlier, Patient No.2009, a 28-year-old woman, residing in Gaden Hill apartment block in Nam Tu Liem district deliberately concealed information and transmitted coronavirus to her baby and helper.

As of the noon of February 9, Ha Noi confirmed 27 locally-transmitted cases in Nam Tu Liem district, Hai Ba Trung district,  Cau Giay district, Dong Da district, Me Linh outlying district, Dong Anh outlying district, and Ba Dinh district.
