Since the project has fallen behind schedule, the Deputy PM asked contractors to employ financial and labour resources, as well as machinery, to meet the timetable agreed upon.
He asked authorities from localities in the highway’s passage to address site-related issues in order to make way for the construction.
The 105 kilometre long Ha Noi – Hai Phong highway is the first major national project to be constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. The project, which conforms to international standards, begins in Ha Noi, traverses Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces, and ends in Hai Phong.
As of September 30, the project had VND18.42 trillion disbursed, accounting for 39.2% of total committed investment. As much as 99.26% of apportioned land were handed over to contractors. There are a few obstacles that slow down the project progress.
