The center will introduce Vietnamese literary works on Lotus magazine of the Asian-African Writers’ Association and open a website of Viet Nam’s literary works in English.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Viet Nam Writers’ Association Huu Thinh said that the establishment of the center started from practical requirements. The most important task of the centre was to contribute to making the world know more about Viet Nam is an important way to popularize Vietnamese culture, imagery, land and people to international friends.
According to a book entitled 'Vietnamese Literature Translators' published in 2002 by the association’s Translation Council in co-operation with the East-West Culture Centre, Viet Nam has had about 300 prominent translators from the 14th century until the late 20th century.
