Capital to grant 116 business licenses

The conference was scheduled for June 27 in Ha Noi. 

Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue was quoted as saying that the conference would send strong messages to lure investment to Viet Nam in general and Ha Noi in particular as a safe and attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors. 

So far, ten provinces and cities, and 540 enterprises including 120 foreign ones, with a total of 1,400-1,500 delegates would take part in the conference.

The Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee intended to license 116 projects worth over VND 339,000 billion and allow the expansion of other projects with a total value of VND 266,000 billion. 

The projects chiefly focus on urban housing, offices, tourism-services, industry, technical infrastructure, finance, and banking. 

In addition, the local authorities planned to seek investment for 282 projects with a total value of VND 483 trillion. 

Mr. Hue stressed that the conference will be held in an important time as the city is pursuing the ‘dual’ goal of disease prevention and economic development. 

In the first five months of 2020, the city absorbed US$ 1.05 billion of FDI and attracted VND 9.16 trillion of domestic capital with four projects and 26 expanded ones. In the January-May period, 12,260 enterprises were set up with a total registered capital of VND 181.4 trillion, down 10% in number but up 9% in value. Over 1,200 enterprises were dissolved. Over 7,000 others temporally suspended operation. 3,669 enterprises resumed operation./.
