VGP – The local authorities have provided two relief packages worth VND 604.274 billion (US$ 27 million) for 514,009 people affected by COVID-19, according to the Ha Noi Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
In October, the city sped up disbursement of the second relief package to support social policy beneficiaries, national contributors, poor and near-poor households, laborers, and household businesses under Resolution 42/NQ-CP and Decision 15/2020/QD-TTg.
In total, 514,009 people benefited from the two relief packages with a total amount of nearly US$ 27 million.
In the first ten months, the city generated 145,258 jobs, meeting 93.1% of the preset goal. Meanwhile, 1,738 workers were sent abroad chiefly to Japan and Taiwan (China).
The city also granted 6,020 labor contracts for foreigners; re-granted 6,870 others; and announced work permit exemption for 722 foreign workers.
Earlier, in the first relief package, the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee has provided VND 471 billion (US$ 20.2 million) for 385,432 people who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic./.
