Capital strives to become business startup center

Director of the SMEs Support Center under the Department of Planning and Investment Le Van Quan reported that the business community has been unceasingly growing with nearly 22,000 enterprises founded in the first ten months of 2018, up 5% against the same period last year. 

The city set a target to have 400,000 enterprises by 2020. 

However, the number of successful startup business and the number of startup enterprises which attracted capital of investment funds accounted for only 0.1% of the total number of startup business. 

There are 119 universities, colleges, and institutes in the city but a few of them has conducted startup business activities.

Since 2016, the city has responded to the national business startup programme. Ha Noi has drastically perfected the business and investment environment; accelerated the administrative reform; built a modern administration; streamlined procedures on business registration, land access; developed an e-government and a smart city. 

The city also issued a project on business startup support and a project on creative startup business support with a view to nurturing the business community and backing their access to banking credit and human resources. 

In the coming time, the city will direct relevant departments and agencies to formulate a creative startup business network. 

In addition, the local authorities target to ignite startup business spirit and creative startup business spirit and regards it as a strategic task in the city's socio-economic development in  2018-2020./.
