Capital strives for socio-economic performance in 2019

VGP – To fulfill the preset goal of 7.4-7.6% growth rate in 2019, the capital city of Ha Noi must strive for 7.6-8% growth pace in the rest of the year.

Chairman of the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung presided over a video-teleconference on July 5 to implement directions of the PM and the 19th session of the Executive Board of the Ha Noi Party Committee (the 16th tenure) and seek effective solutions and measures to socio-economic development in the rest of 2019. 

Ensured big economic balances

Director of the Planning and Investment Department Nguyen Manh Quyen reported that big economic balances were ensured in the first half. 

Total State budget collection was estimated at VND 132,134 billion, accounting for 50.2% of forecast. 

Export turnover was estimated at US$ 7.2 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.4%. 

GRDP growth pace grew 7.21%, higher than the rate of 7.15% in the same period last year. 

However, Director Quyen stressed that some norms were lower than that of the same period last year including industrial production, total retail sales of goods and service, service revenue, import, and number of tourists. 

The Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) ranked 54th in 2018, up two notches against 2017. 

The Public Administration Reform Index 2018 (PAR INDEX) was placed at the second position out of 63 provinces and cities. 

The Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) picked up 16 steps against 2017. 

Positive urban management and development

In the first half, the local authorities sped up the progress of planning composition and ratification.

So far, 57 out of 68 projects have been approved, meeting 86% of total area. 

In addition, the city ratified four key planning projects including Ha Noi Railway urban area, craft village in combination with tourism development in Van Phuc village at Ha Dong district and Bat Trang village at Gia Lam district, underground parking networks at four central districts.  

String for more investment & higher PCI

Director Quyen stressed that in the rest of the year, the city will take a synchronous measures to accomplish unfinished norms including development of industrial index, agriculture, service, export, import, rural water supply, and service allocation.

The city will perfect the investment and business environment, promote start-up, investment attraction, business promotion, and effective budget spending, policy preferences especially tax, credit, land, and manpower, and high-tech application./.
