So far, five out of 11 water supply projects have been put into operation, raising the total daily output to 1,520,000 m3, up 623,000 m3 daily, equivalent to 169% of those in 2016.

At present, 14 out of 28 water supply projects have been fundamentally completed and put into use, raising water supply coverage to 65% in rural areas, up 22.8% against the same period last year.

In addition, water supply coverage hit 100% in urban area.

However, so far, six out of 11 projects were left behind schedule. The water  supply rate in some districts remained slow. Out of 119 rural water supply stations, 32 suspended operation. The 87 others are operating and slowly transforming management modals. Some new urban areas are suffering water shortage and poor water quality.

The standing board of the People’s Council proposed the People’s Committee of Ha Noi resolved obstacles and implement Resolution 05/NQ-HDND, dated August 3, 2016 on number, quality, and water supply network in accordance with the Water supply planning of Ha Noi by 2030 with a vision towards 2050 as stipulated in Resolution 01/NQ-HDND, dated July 10, 2019.

The local authorities would review mechanisms and policies to support investors to resolve obstacles; promote social engagement in water supply; consider water supply costs for rural people; and withdraw investment licenses of inefficient investors; and early ratify rural water stations./.
