Capital receives over 3.3 million foreign guests
VGP – The capital city of Ha Noi welcomed nearly 14.4 million of guests in the first six months, including 3.3 million of foreign visitors, the Ha Noi Tourism Department reported.

The Department reported that in the January-June period, the city welcomed 14.4 million guests, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.5%.
The number of foreign arrivals exceeded over 3.3 million, up 10.6% against the same period last year.
Total tourism turnover was estimated at VND 50.2 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of nearly 30%.
Earlier, the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee inked a memorandum of understanding with the CNN channel for the 2019-2024 period during which the CNN will introduce the culture, history and people of the capital city.
The department also cooperated with the Viet Nam Airlines to welcome delegations from Japan, Australia and European countries to Ha Noi to study the tourism market, and organize the “Summer in Europe” event in the city.
The tourism sector has strengthened investigations to timely prevent and disclose tourism infringements including price hikes, cheating, robbery at ancient streets and surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake.
Tourism supporting agencies are presenting at tourism information centers at Hoan Kiem district to provide information and respond to complaints. Tourism information responses are available at the hotline 1800556896 and tourism information centers.
Director of the Ha Noi Tourism Department Tran Duc Hai was quoted as saying that in the coming time, the tourism sector will continue to build and perfect cultural tourism products highlighting heritage, festivals, craft villages, cuisine, agriculture and community-based tourism of the city./.
