Capital prepares for essential commodities amidst COVID-19 outbreak

VGP – The Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade has crafted a plan to ensure stable supply of essential commodities, with 30-50% more than usual demands within 30 consecutive days.

The move was taken in response to the outspread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). 

The Department worked with the Department of Domestic Market under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to prevent product speculation especially masks and medical equipment and introduce a list of 55 raw material providers from 14 other countries.

The Department worked with the Department of Domestic Market to ensure adequate supply of essential goods such as food, foodstuff, vegetables and fruits. 

Earlier, the Department issued Plan 608/PA-SCT on goods supply for local residents in response to COVID-19 outbreak. 

Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Industry and Trade Department Nguyen Thanh Hai affirmed that the Department tasked local enterprises to raise goods quantity by 30-50% more than usual in order to ensure stable supply for local residents within 30 consecutive days.

Hence, local residents can be assured of adequate essential goods supply, Mr. Hai said. 

In addition, the Department tasked the market management force to inspect the transportation and trafficking of wild animals./.
