The Ha Noi Tourism Department reported that in the first nine months of 2019, investigators discovered and punished 33 companies; collected VND 225.5 million of fine; and fined 15 individuals with VND 53.7 million.

The tourism sector also dispatched members to participate into an investigation group of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on law enforcement in travel business activities.

In addition, a working team was established to inspect law enforcement of organizations and individuals in accordance with a decision of the Ha Noi Tourism Director.

A software on complaint and accusation settlement was used. Accordingly, 35 complaints of tourists were handled.

The city’s tourism sector is striving to become a spearhead economic sector with stable growth and greater contributions to the transformation of the city’s economic structure.

The sector must make adequate investment in developing the quality and number of tourism products, while attracting more investment, especially from the community, to the sector.

Ha Noi houses nearly 3,500 accommodation facilities with more than 60,800 rooms.

In 2018, the US-based Time magazine listed Ha Noi as one of the top eight destinations for all visitors. Mastercard named it in the top 10 Southeast Asian cities that attract the highest number of business visitors, and Airbnb chose Ha Noi as one of the two Vietnamese cities with the highest number of booked rooms./.
