Capital focuses on high-tech farming

VGP – As the leading scientific and technological center of Viet Nam, Ha Noi owns abundant opportunities to absorb and apply new techniques in the agricultural sector. The city also selects high-tech farming as an impetus for local growth.

Raising personnel income

As of late 2018, Ha Noi housed 126 high-tech farming sites, up 20 against 2017.  

Specifically, Me Linh districts had 18 high-tech farming sites; followed by Gia Lam with 17 and Thuong Tin with 14.

In addition, the city had about 110 hectares of high-tech flower cultivation such as Dan Phuong – Flora Viet Nam collective and Thuy Huong tree collective.

Vice Chairman of the Phu Xuyen district People’s Committee was quoted as saying that the high-tech farming sites have brought back higher incomes for local people. 

Applying new techniques        

Director of Ha Noi Agriculture and Rural Development Department Chu Phu My said that in 2019, the city targets to develop the agricultural sector by 2.5-3% and apply high-tech in 35% of agricultural production output. 

To fulfill the aforesaid goals, the Department will focus on large-scale production in line with advantages and market signals. Agricultural products will be preserved and manufactured in value chains. Scattered breeding will be transformed into farm and industrial breeding and high-tech farming application. High-tech farming will also be encouraged in aquatic cultivation. 

The city will build new safe agro-forestry-fishery supply chains and pilot a software system to manage, identify and trace sources of fresh food. In addition, the city will attach importance to market forecasts./.
