Deputy Director of the Hanoi CDC Khong Minh Tuan was quoted as saying that the number of infection saw a year-on-year decline of 45% (lower than 5,327 cases in 2019). However, some districts reported high number of infection including Phuc Tho district (360 cases), Thuong Tin district (355 cases), and Nam Tu Liem district (319 cases), posing a risk of complicated outbreak to occur.

In the meantime, the weather conditions are favorable for mosquitoes.

So far, Ha Noi has detected 47 disease hotspots.  The local authorities sent health workers to spray chemicals to kill larvae, which are grown to become mosquitoes, in high-risk areas or areas with dengue fever patients.

Local residents were advised to cover all water containers, cooperate with the authorities to kill mosquitoes and quickly go to the medical stations when they have a fever. More importantly, everyone must keep the house clean, drain unused water and change the water in flower vases, use larvicide, have fish in big water containers and cover the containers with lids./.
