Capital city strives for higher PAPI

VGP – The Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee has recently approved a plan to improve public a dministration and the Viet Nam Provincial Governance to raise its Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI).

Last year, the city ranked 58th out of 63 provinces and cities by scoring 33.81 points.

Accordingly, the city tasked departments and grass-root People’s Committees to compose programs and action plans to raise PAPI in 2017 and following years; raise people’s awareness of people on PAPI in August, 2017.

PAPI is a policy monitoring tool that reflects citizen experiences with the performance of central to local governments in governance, public administration and public service delivery.

PAPI has helped motivate public officials, civil servants and public employees at different levels and in different sectors to perform better in public sector management and public service delivery. The index ultimately aims at providing better services for citizens and fostering national development.

This 2016 PAPI Report presents the results of the sixth nationwide survey, with data articulating the experiences of 14,063 citizens who were randomly selected and who are a representative sample of different demographic groups across the country. The report was officially launched on April 42017./.
