Capital boosts tourism domestic demand
VGP – The Ha Noi Tourism Department has taken active steps to restore tourism activities and overcome negative impacts of COVID-19 outbreak.

The department will continue to implement the cooperative program between Ha Noi and CNN in 2020; work with press agencies to advertize local tourism; and deploy smart tourism system.
Especially, in 2020, the department is implementing a plan which targets to boost local tourism; conduct a range of measures to mitigate and recover tourism activities after COVID-19 epidemic is terminated.
In addition, the city will connect with airlines and travel agents to promote tourism and welcome guests from Europe, Asia, and Americas; and host F1 race.
In 2020, the city targets to welcome 31.88 million guests, up 10.2% against 2019 including 8.21 million international guests and 23.67 million domestic guests. Ha Noi also strived for total tourism revenue of VND 116 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of 12.5% and a hotel coverage rate of 65-68%. However, due to negative impacts of the outbreak, the tourism sector has planned to craft another development scenario and set new targets./.
