Capital boost industrial and commercial activities

Director of the Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade Le Hong Thang reported that in2018 and the first eight months of 2019, the Department extricated business difficulties; encouraged local businesses to overcome difficulties; take positive actions from production to product consumption; save materials and fuel; raise labor productivity; cut costs; renovate technology; and seek new markets. 

The industrial production index (IPI) in August saw a month-on-month growth of 3.8% and a year-on-year increase of 8.9%. 

In August, total retail sales of goods and services hit VND 231 billion, up 1.6% against the previous month and 8.8% against the same period last year. In the first eight months, the figure valued VND 1,789 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of 10.4%. 

In the January-August period, export turnover reached over US$ 10.7 billion, up 15.5% against the same period last year. 

The largest hard currency earners included computers and spare parts with US$ 1.7 billion (up 6.5%); garments and textiles with US$ 1.41 billion (up 18.6%); machines and spare parts with US$ 1.17 billion, up 4.9%; transport vehicles and spare part with US$ 909 million, up 26.8%. 

In addition, the Department worked with districts and communes to propose the People’s Committee to establish and expand 17 industrial complexes and timely resolve difficulties for industrialtrade village clusters. 

The Department worked with districts and communes to speed up application of QR codes in an effort to prevent trade frauds; review, supplement, issue, and eliminate administrative procedures.  

So far, over 90% of individuals and organizations were satisfied with the performance of the Department. 

Especially, the body opened various channels to promptly respond to business difficulties./.
