Bulgarian Rose Festival to be held

Organised by the Bulgarian Embassy in Viet Nam, and various other agencies and organisations, the event aims to mark the 68th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Viet Nam has co-operated with the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to import 1,680 rose trees of more than 114 different varieties from Bulgaria. The rose trees are being taken care of at a ministry institute.

Many kinds of roses will also be brought to the festival.

In addition, visitors will have a chance to see special products made from roses, such as a rose street, a rose house and a European garden.

The festival will also attract the participation of Vietnamese rose gardens’ owners and rose trading companies to exhibit their products such as those from Xuan Quan garden in the northern province of Hung Yen, the Rose Park Company, the Ho Tay(West Lake) flower valley and Thang Long bonsai group and others.

Bulgaria has been famous for rose festivals in the Rose Valley for centuries. Since 1903, this traditional festival has been held on the first Sunday of June and attracted millions of tourists from all over the world. In 1971, it became a national festival.
