Asian cities to join the 1000th anniversary of Thăng Long-Hà Nội

VGP - The Grand Celebration of the 1000th birthday of Thăng Long-Hà Nội and Việt Nam’s National Tourism Year 2010 in Hà Nội will draw the participation of all the other eight member cities of the Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia (CPTA).

At the 8th CPTA annual meeting in Tokyo, all nine member cities including Bangkok, Delhi, Hà Nội, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Taipei, and Tokyo, agreed to take part in the millennium of Hà Nội.
Hà Nội's delegation will discuss specific programs and plans with each of the cities.
During the meeting, participants were provided with interesting information of the two events which will be widely popularized in the member cities and posted on the CPTA's website.
Hà Nội also introduced these events through publications, pamphlets, brochures and videodiscs showcased at the meeting.

The Grand Celebration will last for 10 days on October 1-10 in 2010.
On the opening day, there will be a number of events, including an exhibition on the socio-economic achievements of Thăng Long-Hà Nội and Việt Nam as a whole, cultural and art exhibitions featuring historical milestones, and a special live art show entitled “The Whole Nation with Hà Nội”.
