Asia Link Sketchwalk Hanoi 2019

VGP - Asia Link Sketchwalk Hanoi 2019 will run from October 3-6 in Ha Noi on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2019).

The event will draw the attendance of 350 professional and amateur painters from 18 countries worldwide including Japan, the RoK, Singapore, Thailand, France, Malaysia, the Philippines and Viet Nam. 

Artists will be divided into 10 groups to sketch the entire Ha Noi Old Quarter including such as Ngoc Son Temple, Ba Kieu Temple, King Ly Thai To Monument, Dong Xuan Market, Tam Phu Linh Tu, O Quan Chuong, streets in the old quarter, Hanoi Opera House and St. Joseph's Cathedral.

There will be six technical workshops by six leading Asian artists in the field of urban sketches, including Kiah Kiean Chng (Malaysia), Elena Kilimova (Russia) ), Alvin Mark Tan (Singapore), and Darman Angir (Indonesia); 10 practical drawing sessions under the guidance of artists Arkar Myo, Akri Mark, Supmanee Chai, Khoo Cheang Jin, Binh Chu, Thuy Duong and Dinh Hai; and three exchanges to share experiences of three famous artists: Pramote K (Thailand), Tia Boon Sim (Singapore) and Khoo Cheang Jin (Malaysia).

Works will be displayed at the closing ceremony at 18h00 on October 6 at the University of Science (VNU-HUS) at No.13-15 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hoan Kiem district.

Besides sketch drawing, participants will be introduced to cultural features of Ha Noi including long dress wearing, conical hat drawing,  fan drawing, and local gastronomy./.
