Archbishop of Ha Noi extends Tet greetings to municipal government

VGP - Chairman of the Ha N oi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung in Ha Noi on January 15 received Archbishop of the Ha N oi Archdiocese Joseph Vu Van Thien .

At the reception, Thien took the chance to thank the government religious committee for creating favorable conditions for practices of Catholicism in Ha Noi Archdiocese over the past years.

He appreciated the visit and best wishes conveyed to Catholic dignitaries and followers by Ha Noi leaders on the Christmas 2019.

Expressing his delight at the capital city’s development over the past years, Archbishop Joseph Vu Van Thien wished the leaders of the Ha Noi People's Committee a happy new year, good health, happiness and success.

In turn, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung thanked the Archbishop of Ha Noi for his visit and Tet wishes. He also praised cordial relations between the Catholic church and state authorities at administrative levels, and called on Catholic dignitaries and followers to make further contributions for the development in the city.

Mr.Chung stressed that in the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, the capital city hopes to continue receiving support of all citizens, including the Catholic community, in both material and spiritual aspects.

The Ha Noi government will always create favorable conditions for the Ha Noi Archdiocese’s activities, Chung pledged.

He expressed his hope that the Bishop would continue to encourage Catholics in the archdiocese to make practical contributions to the development of the locality.
