VGP – The action month on food safety was recently launched under the motto “Say no with fake and poor-quality food, protect customers’ rights.”
The Ha Noi Steering Committee for food safety launched the 2019 action month on food safety on April 17.
The action month targets to raise management role of the local authorities and sense of responsibilities for producers, businessmen, and customers in food hygiene and safety.
The event will run until May 15. Investigation work will take place from April 15 to May 15 in Ha Noi.
The local authorities also plan to launch a campaign on safe food compliance, prevention of food contamination and food poisoning especially collective food poisoning cases.
The city houses over 66,000 food producing and manufacturing sites.
The Steering Committee will send four investigating groups from the Department of Health, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Market Management Agency to inspect violation of food safety regulations.
Especially, the Department of Health will examine food safety at eight districts namely Hoan Kiem, Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, Gia Lam, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Dong Anh and Thanh Tri./.
