UK, Ha Noi firms work to bolster economic relations
VGP – Ha Noi's Mayor Nguyen Duc Chung has received UK Ambassador to Viet Nam Giles Lever.
At the reception, Chung highlighted that Ha Noi is willing to create the most favorable conditions for UK firms to invest in the city.
The city will cooperate with the UK Embassy to hold activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic ties, including the UK Day in Viet Nam, as well as create favorable conditions for the UK firms to operate in Viet Nam, he added.
For his part, the UK Ambassador highly appreciated the positive role of the Ha Noi authorities in reinforcing the relations between Ha Noi and localities in the UK, as well as between Viet Nam and the UK in general.
Ambassador Giles Lever noted that the UK Embassy in Viet Nam will hold a series of exchanges and activities by the year's end, in order to boost the mutual understanding between the two countries and mark the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic ties (1973-2018). Among those activities, the embassy plans to hold the UK Day near Hoan Kiem Lake to popularize British culture to Viet Nam and Ha Noi, which it hopes to receive the support and collaboration of Ha Noi authorities.
The diplomat also expressed his hope that Ha Noi would faciliate finance and credit firms from the UK to operate in the city in the coming time.
