11th CPTA meeting opens in HN

VGP - The two-day 11th annual meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA), themed “Tourism - a source of strength for sustainable development” opened in Ha Noi from October 10. 
This is the third time Ha Noi hosted the event, which, for this year, aims to celebrate the 58th anniversary of Ha Noi's liberation and the 1002nd founding anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi.

At this meeting, CPTA plans to launch effectively the campaign “Welcome to Asia” and related activities to help the Asian tourism network thrive in a sustainable way.

It also looks to increase advertisements to attract tourists from North America, Europe and America through joint promotion projects and campaigns.

Each year, CPTA’s meeting and exhibitions will be organized at a member city to evaluate done works and launch new projects, enhance the effectiveness of State agencies’ management on tourism and accelerate cooperation between State management agencies on tourism with intentional organizations and businesses.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairwoman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc wished that member cities would benefit greatly from tourist cooperation and have good memories about Ha Noi.

The meeting offered chances for member cities to discuss and propose solutions to strengthening promotion activities to attract tourists from all over the world, said Chairman of CPTA Masahiko Hosaka.

The two-day event attracted delegates from Tokyo, New Delhi, Seoul, Taipei, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Ulaanbaatar, and Tomsk.
